How to Recover from Addiction: What’s my future?

SerenityRvrs.jpg

Often I hear concerns that there is no life after addiction; recovery becomes a concern of downfall for many people. If you want to be recovered, it often takes 100% work on your end. Understand that your unfortunate past will not excuse for an informal future. You have to do the work, but if you understand the label put on addicts, you would want to anyway. Day after day, I hear the cries of individuals because addicts are the “scum” of the earth. “You’re a drug addict, a loser, nobody is going to want you and nobody is going to trust you and give you a future.”- I hear this, haven’t you? Or at least some rendition of such? You must find your inner sole, and prove that you are more than just a label, it’s time to #BreakTheLabel

Use the resources given to you. Addicts have many resources, free, available to help their future. Often there is some sort of education resource to go back to school, or career resource to help you get back on track. Explore these opportunities, but be sure to take them because as a recovering addict, everything is an uphill battle. Make your amends, and take battles face on.
